This year started out with a bang, actually a lot of water.  Luckily, the salon was okay and we just needed some new wood floors.  Along with these beautiful new floors we have done some renovations and I have to say it’s looking pretty darn good!  Lisa Rene’s has such an authentic warm atmosphere and now with our new look we have some excitement in the air. 

   Along with the new look we are encouraging clients to reinvent themselves.  Spring is just around the corner and the perfect way to celebrate longer days and more sunshine is to treat yourself to a new do.

  Last year I was certified to do Great Lengths extensions.  I can’t believe what a transformation it has made for clients.   Honestly its like plastic surgery for the hair!  I myself sported a colorful punch of pink in my hair this winter. I don’t need any length to my hair but to get some fun, fade free color without damage is genius. We have three more months of winter and I am feeling like hibernating.  Everyday I have to find some project to keep me motivated and my recent development has been organization.  It seems to me that I like to hoard things especially beauty products.  I actually have many clients tell me the same thing about themselves.  So to all those product junkies lets do our self a service and  throw out those old lotions, gels, powders and lipsticks.  Rule of thumb, if you haven’t used it in a year it must go.  Most hair products have a shelf life of two years but makeup is only good for a few months before it starts to collect bacteria.

Now that all that old nasty stuff is gone it’s time to start fresh.  Go basic with good quality powder, mascara, blush/bronzer and eyeliner.  As for hair products ask your stylist for their recommendation.  I am drawn to volumizing root lifters, smoothing serums for the ends and a clarifying shampoo to remove any build up on the hair.  I’m starting out my new year with a clean fresh slate of  just a few quality items to improve my beauty regime.
