My Husband Is In A Facebook Fight

I got on Facebook about 3 years ago. A highschool girl I rode with set it up and taught me the basics.  I wanted a Facebook page to cyber stalk my younger cousins and see all their pictures.  As they have grown and gone off to college it is a fantastic way to keep in touch without being too intrusive.  I was given one basic Facebook instruction. “Friend anyone that friends you, that’s just what you do.”

“Why?” I asked.

“Just cause.” She replied.  And that was that.  I didn’t have any idea what I was doing but was thrilled when my teenage cousins “friended” me, and so it began.  I would friend their friends to follow a “thread”, their friends would friend me to meet their cousin the hairdresser:)

Pretty soon friends from highschool found me, I found clients and the so on and so on continued.

When my husband went on my Facebook page he flipped out.  “WHO ARE ALL THESE GUYS?!?”

” I don’t know” I replied.

That answer didn’t sit too well with him.  I explained the original instructions I had been given and I had never refused a friend.  This resulted in hundreds of “friends” I didn’t know.

He acted as if Facebook was E-harmony.

“That doesn’t make any sense,Lisa. who are all these people?” This sentenced was uttered no less that a million times in the past two years.

Give it a rest already.  I offered to set him up a page.  “I don’t want women i don’t know as friends!” he would answered in his most disgusted tone.

Ugh….***sigh***   Then it happened.  He wanted a Facebook page.

I ran to the computer and set it up.  Suggested friends and he was off and running.  Everyday more and more friends sought him out and I was finally out of the dog house.

Then the ridiculous happened.  He got in a Facebook fight.  He commented on a politically charged posting, a third party disagreed with him.  Rich shot back with more politically incorrect postings, and they were at a war of words.  All of this took place on someone else’s wall.  Ugh … ugh… ugh.

Really??  My 44 year old husband is in a Facebook fight?!?  Yep, he is………. Maybe I’ll get him an E-harmony page :/
